Well not quite, but I have been distracted from working on my new site plugin by adding Twitter and Facebook buttons to the site. The buttons are visible on all blog pages within the cake decorating blog directory, my Blog and on my About page . These buttons will help both blog owners and blog fans share things of interest.
I have also joined Twitter and Facebook to enable me to post updates about the site entries and improvements. This provides a new way for blog owners and fans to keep up-to-date with any additions, new blogs and promotions.
I think these changes will all help improve the user experience for all my visitors.
Erica OBrien is the second personally submitted blog I have received for the directory. It is a real thrill when people submit their own blogs, and what a great blog this one is. Even with all the searching I have been doing I had not found this blog. So it was a double delight to get this submission.
I have also created some graphic buttons for linking back to the site. They are in two widths, 200 and 170 pixels wide with both square and banner formats. The buttons are on the resource page, along with the associated HTML to make them easier to add.
I’m very pleased with the way my new graphics have turned out. Variations of the design will appear in different places when a featured blog is displayed. My main priority was to have a badge to appear on a featured blog page, to make it special, but once I started creating graphics they spread elsewhere.
So, now there are stars all over the place, but I think they brighten the site up nicely.
