Site Updates:
I am pleased to announce a new feature to the Local Cake Decorating Directory, enabling class providers to list in multiple locations.
This means any class provider who regularly holds classes in more than one location can advertise their classes in the directory and have them listed in the state and city held.
All listings will point to the providers primary website, allowing visitors to locate further information as required.
Derek and I work very closely as a web development team. We are always keen to hear from our advertisers and visitors to ensure that our site provides the best experience for both.
Cake decorating students can now browse for classes in their local area, thanks to the US’s first dedicated directory of cake decorating classes. Students can search by state, town, and even by the type of class on offer, to find exactly what they need.
This new local cake decorating classes website directory–the only one of its kind in the United States–connects cake decorating students with class teachers in their local area.

I am very pleased and proud to announce that the Local Cake Decorating Classes Directory is now live on this site.
This exciting new addition has been developed after the many queries I have received from visitors who were finding my site looking for information about classes local to them. The classes are listed by state and city, and class features are assigned to each one, enabling visitors to easily find the best class for them.
Along with the new Classes Directory, the Cake Decorating Classes website has a whole new homepage, making it easier for visitors to find exactly what they are looking for; be it local cake decorating classes, information about online cake decorating courses, or to connect with cake decorating bloggers.

I am in the middle of some other major changes to the site. One of which is moving the whole blog directory over to a dedicated server. This site has gotten so big that it has outgrown the allocated space and resources you get on shared hosting. So, I now have my very own server, which is very exciting, but also comes with a whole host of problems. Derek is helping me work though all the issues, and anyone visiting the site lately may have noticed some minor glitches. Everything is fixed now though, and the site should only work faster and better than before. So, all the hard work was worth it.
So now things are happily settled on the new server, I have another exciting change to implement on the site. I really never thought I would get to this point; it has been so much hard work. There is still a bit more testing to do before it can go live, but I am hoping it will be launched sometime next week!
I have added a new listing type to the cake decorating blog directory, called Basic. On the category pages, it will appear as a smaller entry and side-by-side beneath Standard and Featured listings.
There are several reasons for this new listing type. The main one is it enables me to enter blogs I find quicker than before and without having to review them. I still intend to work through all blogs and write a review, but this means I can add them for others to find much sooner. There will be more changes to the Basic listing over time, but for now I am busy with other features for the site.

I’m very pleased with the way my new graphics have turned out. Variations of the design will appear in different places when a featured blog is displayed. My main priority was to have a badge to appear on a featured blog page, to make it special, but once I started creating graphics they spread elsewhere.
So, now there are stars all over the place, but I think they brighten the site up nicely.
If anyone has visited the blog directory you may have noticed two new buttons in the side bar, and if you haven’t go and have a look, but not until you’ve read this :-)
The new buttons are for United Kingdom blogs and Australian blogs. They each take you to a similar blog directory that contains UK and Australian blogs respectively. So there are now even more blogs to look through and hopefully find something new.
Better get on with adding blogs as you wouldn’t believe the huge list I have,
Lindsay
