Wilton cake decorating classes are taught by Wilton Method Instructor, Jeanine Hanson, at the Hobby Lobby in the Northlands, Kansas City. Jeanine has over 16 years teaching experience. She offers Wilton cake decorating courses for beginners and more advanced students, and also schedules cupcake and brownie decorating classes from time to time.
The Wilton cake decorating courses meet for two hours weekly over four consecutive weeks. The three courses are:
- Decorating Basics-Beginning Cake Decorating: learn how to bake a cake; make icing, flowers, borders, and more.
- Flowers and Cake Design: learn how to design, make flowers from royal icing and rolled fondant, create a basket weave design, and more.
- Gum Paste and Fondant: learn how to work with rolled fondant and gum paste, cover a cake with fondant, make sugar flowers, bows, and more.
